Agronomist-Led Soil Improvement Solutions for Florida Farms

Professional compost spreading and soil amendment services for commercial growers.

Improving soil at scale requires more than material. It requires the right rates, the right timing, and equipment built for large acreage.

Suncoast Organics handles the full process: soil testing, agronomist recommendations, compost delivery, and precision application at scale. We cover 30 acres per hour with calibrated equipment built for commercial agriculture.

Soil Improvement for Farms That Need Professional Equipment and Execution

We provide soil improvement services for commercial farms and agricultural operations throughout throughout Florida. Every service is guided by agronomic expertise and executed with professional-grade equipment.

Organic Lawn Care for Sarasota and Manatee County Homeowners

Sandy soil drains fast and holds almost nothing – which is why your lawn needs constant work. Our organic programs for Florida homeowners improve soil structure so your lawn needs less – and stays healthier longer.

Built for Large-Acreage Soil Application

Applying compost and soil amendments across large acreage requires specialized equipment and accurate rate control. Owning spreading equipment for limited seasonal use is inefficient for many farms, and manual application ties up labor needed elsewhere.
30 acres per hour: Our commercial spreaders cover ground fast, so your operation stays on schedule.
Agronomist-led recommendations: Every application rate and placement decision is guided by a licensed agronomist based on your soil data.
One call, full execution: We source the compost, deliver it, and apply it. You don’t coordinate multiple vendors or manage the logistics.
Precision application: Under canopy, row-by-row, or broadcast — calibrated to your crop type and soil conditions.

Our Process for Assessing Soil and Applying Amendments in the Field

Here’s how we handle soil assessment and field application for Florida soils.

Step 1:

Soil Assessment

Our team collects soil samples and interprets the results to identify deficiencies by crop and field conditions.

Step 2:

Recommendation & Scheduling

Based on those results, we set amendment rates and application timing and schedule the work around your operation.

Step 3:

Delivery & Application

We source compost, deliver it to the site, and apply it using calibrated equipment matched to your acreage.

Step 4:

Follow-Up

For regenerative programs, we return for seasonal applications and track soil changes over time.

Improving Florida’s Sandy Soils Through Agronomy and Soil Amendments

Suncoast Organics was founded by Brian Weathers and Nick Castro to address a clear gap in the Southwest Florida agricultural market: growers who need better soil but lack the equipment, time, or specialized knowledge to make it happen.

Brian brings decades of hands-on field experience and equipment operation. Nick is an experienced agronomist with formal training in soil science and nutrient management.

Together, we’ve built an operation designed for scale: high-capacity spreading equipment, established supply partnerships, and a process that takes soil improvement from diagnosis to execution.

We work with citrus groves, berry farms, vegetable producers, nurseries, and ranches across Manatee, Sarasota, Lee, Charlotte, DeSoto, and Polk counties.

Field Constraints That Limit Soil Performance in Florida

Low Organic Matter in Sandy Soils

Many Florida soils drain quickly and hold limited organic matter. Compost application improves structure, water holding capacity, and nutrient retention.

Nutrient Loss and Inefficient Inputs

Soils with low organic matter lose nutrients quickly. Improving soil structure helps nutrients stay available longer, reducing unnecessary reapplication.

Labor and Scheduling Constraints

Manual application ties up crews needed for planting, harvesting, and maintenance. High-capacity equipment completes application without pulling labor from core operations.

Water Holding Limitations

Soils with low organic matter struggle to retain moisture. Compost applications increase water holding capacity and reduce leaching during heavy rainfall.

Lack of Spreading Equipment

Commercial compost spreaders are expensive to purchase and maintain for limited annual use. We provide the equipment and complete the application work.

Unclear Soil Test Results

Soil test data requires interpretation to be useful. Results are translated into specific amendment rates and application decisions.

Serving Florida’s Agricultural Corridor

We work with farms and growers across a five-county region, with extended service for larger agricultural operations.

Primary Service Area: Manatee County, Sarasota County, Lee County, Charlotte County, DeSoto County

Extended Agricultural Service: Polk County, Collier County (Immokalee), and surrounding areas for projects over 100 acres.

Based in Palmetto, Florida, centrally located for fast response throughout Southwest Florida’s agricultural community.
